Visit from St George’s Primary School
Harvest Time
Visit from St George’s Primary School on 21st September 2010
Children from St George’s Primary School were able to see a great range of vegetables ready to pick when they visited our Ollersett Avenue allotment site.
Two allotment society members were on site to show the children round a number of very productive plots and look at the vegetables that we have been able to grow outdoors in New Mills. They were very interested in Maggie and Barry’s giant cabbages and Jill’s sweetcorn.
Rick gave them a bag full of vegetables from his plot for them to take back to school for a display. The vegetables were then made into a soup for the children to try.
Here are a few photos of the visit and 2 reports that the children have written.
